Save The Dates!

We are hitting the presses with our Save The Dates! And I couldn't be happier! Lucky Designs did such a great job, she was practically reading my mind, and then exceeding my expectations a bazillion times fold!!! Can't wait for you to see them in person!

Bake me a Cake!

We are getting so many chef's and bakers that have already started sketching out their cakes! I am so excited to see what these super fabulous chef's are coming up with!

If you haven't already you might want to start your super fabulous sketch of your original cake design so that our panel of judges will be completely WOW'ed!

Cake Rules!

Some questions have come up as to the Rules of the Cake Competition, just to clarify here are a few of the rules..




*Competing cakes must be at least 2 1/2 feet tall in the Professional Category

*The competing cake must be faux (a Dummy Cake)

*Tasting cakes for General Public and Judges are sheet cakes

Those are the intial rules, and the most frequently asked questions that have been coming up! I hope that helps!

Cake Auction!

I was trying to think of fun activities to add to "Let's Eat Cake!" a Cake Eating Contest... messy and YUCK! No that was nixed!

So I've decided to do a Cake Auction! This way bakers (home and professional alike) can bake pretty cakes and we auction those off! How fun (and not messy)!!

I am getting so excited, February 17th can't come soon enough!

Lucky Cake!!!

I am so blessed to have so many people offering to help with this event! Their talents are incredible!

Our Save The Dates are being proofed and look amazing Thank You, Lucky Designs!!! I can't wait to send them out!!!

Our Celebrity Chef's are getting closer to being confirmed, Yipppeee!!

Now I just need to ensure we have people there and cakes to judge! If you know anyone that is willing to help with advertising - let me know!

We have a Venue!!!

The Paramount Plaza and Resort in Gainesville, Florida will be the back drop for our First Let's Eat Cake Competition!!!

The newly renovated hotel has been gracious enough to donate their services to our event, and I think this lakeside property will be the perfect back drop to this event!!!

Let's Eat Cake Judge!!

Meet Chef Jamie McFadden, he is going to be one of the judges for Let's Eat Cake! Chef Jamie was named one of Central Florida's top 20 Chef's by Restaurant Forum! He was featured on NBC's Dinner in the Sky segment, and is just a fun guy to work with.

I am super excited to have him on our Judging Panel!

Another Thank you!

What Let's Eat Cake needs right now are "Save the Dates" if anyone knows of someone who's be willing to either underwrite the cost of the Save The Dates or donate the Save the Date cards - please let me know!

What is Let's Eat Cake?

I am so glad you asked!

Let's Eat Cake! is a Wedding Cake Competition. Pastry Chef's and Bakers will gather with their faux cakes that will be judged by World Renowned Pastry Chef's and Celebrities alike on their artistic abilities, details, intricate work and overall beauty. (and of course taste!)

Then we'll invite in the general public to taste all of the cakes (basically a Wedding Cake Schmogisborg) and they'll judge the cakes on taste as well.

We'll crown a winner in the following categories:

• People Choice Award for Taste
• Amateur 1st Place in Design
• Professional Chef 1st Place in Design
• Professional Chef 1st Place in Taste

I am so excited to be planning this event!! I feel blessed to be guided to St. Jude's Children's Hospital to help the kids.

We Gotta Have Faith!

Have you ever had a dream, and just felt so moved afterwards to do something about it? I did.

One day last year I woke up from a deep sleep and a very vivid dream – I remember every moment of this dream as if it had happened in real life. And I decided to take action.

When I awoke I explained to my husband what my dream was about and he said, “You sound so charged – do something with that energy, make it happen!” So I am!

We are hosting our first National Fundraiser! And I couldn’t be more excited!
